The Club at the Strand
Golf optional · Gated · Budget around $1,200/mo
Breakfast at The Strand can arrive on a pool lounger: the Island Bar, beside the pool, opens seven days for breakfast, lunch and dinner and carries food and drinks out to the deck. Lunch and dinner move to Tavern 59, where members eat indoors or out in the Botanical Gardens and book time on the golf simulators. Friday belongs to the Grille Room, whose Fine Dining night looks over those same gardens, lit after dark.
All of it runs out of a 55,000-square-foot clubhouse, opened in November 1997, at the middle of about 600 acres in North Naples. The land sits behind one gate on the northwest corner of Interstate 75 and Immokalee Road. Three nines of golf wind between lakes and wooded preserve, and 140 of those acres are kept as preserve. Around the course sit 1,073 homes in fifteen neighborhoods.
What is the golf like at The Strand?
Twenty-seven holes by architect Gordon Lewis, played as three nine-hole loops called Savannah, Sabal and Preserve. Every loop has six sets of tees, with three combination tees on top of those. From the red tees an eighteen runs about 4,500 yards, and from the black it stretches to almost 7,200.
Practice happens on an aqua driving range, two putting greens and a bunker and short-game area, with lessons through the club's Golf Academy. Weekly league play fills the regular calendar, and annual events run from 9 & Dine evenings to competitive tournaments. Indoors, Tavern 59 has Fore Sight simulators fitted with GC Quad and Skyhawk launch monitors. The club hosted an LPGA Tour event in three consecutive years around 2000.
What is there to do besides golf?
Courts first: the Tennis Center has eight HydroGrid Har-Tru courts, four lit for evening play. Its program covers clinics, weekly round robins, USTA and CTA leagues, and travel teams in the CTA, BTA and CCWTA leagues, with a mixer every month from October through April. Seven pickleball courts, three of them lit, get open play, weekly beginner clinics, an in-house league and their own monthly mixers over the same months.
Three bocce courts sit under café lights next to the Island Bar, used for leagues and pickup games alike. The croquet lawn opened in June 2020. In the words of Club + Resort Business, "The croquet lawn was built to full international dimensions of 105 feet by 84 feet." Its season of home matches starts each January. Bocce and croquet times are both booked in the Strand app.
The heated Junior Olympic pool, open dawn to dusk every day, sits next to the Tennis Center and the Fitness Complex. Nearby: an outdoor basketball court, table tennis, and a Chickee Hut with fans, music and Wi-Fi. The Fitness Center has free weights, strength machines, cardio equipment, personal trainers and group classes. Its Spa does massages, EpiWave and Euro facials, peels and micro-needling.
Where do you eat, and what goes on in the evenings?
Three rooms. The Grille Room and its Veranda serve a seasonal dinner menu from a full bar. Tavern 59 serves lunch and dinner every day in season, inside or out in the gardens. The Island Bar covers the poolside hours from breakfast on.
The club's social calendar lists dinner dances, wine tastings, themed parties, trivia nights, comedians, dueling pianos, a farmers' market and holiday celebrations.
How far is it to the beach, Mercato and the airport?
By road from the clubhouse, without traffic, Mercato is about 6.4 miles and 16 minutes away, and Vanderbilt Beach Park about 7.9 miles and 18 minutes. Fifth Avenue South is about 15 miles and 28 minutes. Southwest Florida International Airport is about 23 miles and 35 minutes. In season, real driving times run longer.
What kinds of homes are there, and what do they cost?
Mostly low-rise condominium buildings, with detached houses in the association simply called Single Family Homes and in a few smaller enclaves such as The Links. The largest neighborhoods are Wedgewood with 153 homes, Clubside with 125, Single Family Homes with 121 and Pinnacle with 112. Mango Cay, the smallest, has three.
Homes that've sold here were built between 1997 and 2003, as the club took shape around them. They run from about 1,450 to about 3,400 square feet, with 2 to 4 bedrooms. The condominiums are the smaller homes and the houses the larger ones.
Two separate markets share the gate, so they are best read apart. Between June 2025 and October 2026:
- Condominium homes sold from the $350,000s to just under $900,000
- Detached houses sold from the $650,000s to about $2.1 million
Does buying a home here get you golf?
No. Golf is never part of the house. The club is a separate, privately owned business, not an owners' association, and it sells memberships to people outside the community as well as to residents. Its membership page sets out the base level: "All resident members must have a social membership. The Social category allows our members access to all of our amenities, except golf."
Golf sits above that, in three categories. Sport adds golf with limits from 1 November to 30 April and without limits from 1 May to 31 October. Full Golf gives unlimited golf to the whole household, Single Golf to one person in it, and both include reciprocal play elsewhere in summer. In October 2026 the club described Full Golf memberships as limited in number. If you want golf every day from November to April, the house won't bring it, so ask which golf category is open to you before you buy.
Who runs the community, and what does owning here cost?
Two layers of association. The Strand Master Property Owners' Association runs the gate and looks after the 140 acres of preserve, and Dorrill Management Group, on Strand Court, manages it. Below it, each building group or enclave has its own neighborhood association, and each casts one vote per home at the master's annual meeting.
Budget around $1,200 a month in fees. Think of it as a budgeting figure set near the high end, not an average. The figure differs between neighborhoods, and most homes pay less.
The community is gated, with transponder entry for owners, members and approved renters. Each vehicle needs a transponder or decal, issued by the master association, and a contracted security company signs off every application. A renter's pass is temporary and switches off on the lease's end date.
